Hamish (Te Arawa, Patuharakeke, Kāi Tahu) is an award-winning screenwriter and director from Aotearoa New Zealand. Alongside his own original projects, Hamish has written for several television series, and in 2025 moved into the commercials directing world, helming the ‘Afternoon Delight’ ad campaign for Stone & Wood in Australia.

Hamish is an experienced teacher and script consultant. He conducts writing workshops and provides support to various organisations, including Script to Screen NZ and the New Zealand Film Commission.

Beyond his creative work, Hamish is a proud school teacher with over twenty years of experience in the classroom.
